Kasandra Hill DVM

Kasandra Hill, DVM, Clinical Medical Director

Dr. Hill joined Belton Small Animal Clinic in August 2014. She grew up in a small town in Southwest Kansas and spent many summers at her grandparents' farm in the panhandle of Oklahoma. Dr. Hill attended Clarendon College, then Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU). She graduated with a degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. SWOSU is also where she met her husband, Jason. Dr. Hill attended veterinary school at Kansas State University. Upon graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Hill joined her husband in Arlington where he was teaching/coaching. After two years working in Arlington, they moved to the Belton area and have called it home since.

Dr. Hill's special interests in veterinary medicine include soft tissue surgery and ophthalmology. The Hills have a Border Collie mix named Molly Bean and three children. When not at work, Dr. Hill enjoys playing outdoors with her family and watching her husband coach at the high school football games.

Brandi Roberts DVM

Brandi Roberts, DVM

Dr. Roberts joined Belton Small Animal Clinic in 2018. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Angelo State University. While in San Angelo, she met her husband, Travis. Together, they attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Roberts professional interests include surgery, dentistry, critical care and internal medicine. While not at work, the Roberts’ enjoy hiking, board games, gardening and spending time with their many animals, including their miniature dachshund, horses, cattle, chickens and ducks.

Virginia Surber, DVM

Dr. Surber grew up in Fort Worth, Texas and attended Texas A&M for undergrad and veterinary school, graduating in 1991. She wanted to become a Veterinarian since the age of 8 years old.

Her first job was in Greenville, Texas, at a mixed animal practice where she met her husband Greg. They moved to Waco for his job and eventually started a very successful small animal practice. After 20 years, it was time to refocus on doing what she loved most: taking care of clients and patients. So, they sold the practice and as Dr. Surber's. husband retired. Dr. Surber's special interests include dentistry, dermatology, and internal medicine. She is also passionate about behavior therapy. Dr. Surber has been a proud member of the AVMA and TVMA for 31 years, as well as USDA certified. She is certified with a CO2 Surgical laser, too, and has completed level 1 and level 2 Fear Free Certifications.

During her free time, Dr. Surber enjoys hiking, biking, and kayaking as well as the practice of yoga. Top of the list is traveling with her husband to shotgun sports tournaments, where he competes.

Jennifer Hewitt, DVM, Relief Veterinarian

Dr. Jennifer Hewitt grew up in Vancouver and Calgary, Canada. She dreamt of working with animals since her childhood. She attended the University of Calgary and received her Bachelor of Science in Zoology with Honors and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees-- which were completed in 2008 and 2013.

Dr. Hewitt has worked in mixed animal practices, but primarily in small animal medicine for the last 7 years. Over the last few years, she has gained experience in emergency medicinal practice, as well.

Dr. Hewitt's special interests include dermatology. In fact, she has continued education in the field and has even practiced in a dermatology-exclusive clinic. She is very passionate about helping to improve the quality of life for the itchy patients!

During her free time, Dr. Hewitt can be found outdoors running, hiking or skiing. She enjoys cooking, gardening and traveling with her husband and 3 dogs.

Alex Putre DVM Belton Small Animal Clinic

Alex Putre, DVM

Dr. Putre joined Belton Small Animal Clinic in July 2023. She grew up in New York and earned a bachelor's degree in Biology and a minor in Nutrition from the University of Pennsylvania. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University.

Dr. Putre’s professional interests include preventive care, internal medicine, and surgery. In her free time, Dr. Putre enjoys spending time outdoors, live music, drawing, and baking
